The Multiverse Invades Gunnar Gaming Glasses: Heroes Descend on Gamer’s Faces From Across the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Just as Disney/Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine were readying for their juggernaut assault on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Gunnar Optiks launched a line of Marvel-inspired computer eyewear that delivers the spirit of the MCU to gamers and, well, anybody who wants to sport a little Marvel on their face.
The gaming glasses include models influenced by Iron Man, Black Panther, Loki, Groot, and Spider-Man (including a Miles Morales edition). Prescription lenses are also available for the frames. We only evaluated the gaming versions.
Prices run from $39.99 to $129.00 for gaming glasses. They do go on sale, so shop. Prescription lenses increase the cost significantly, but prescription eyeglass wearers will not be surprised.
Every pair of Gunnar gaming glasses ships with matching cases, bags and themed microfiber cleaning cloths.
The cases and cleaning cloths are almost as cool as the glasses. Each reflects the theme in stunning color with high-quality graphics and art.
These are Gunnar gaming glasses, which means their main job, well, their only job besides looking cool, is to reduce eyestrain while gaming. Gunnar does this through a variety of lenses, all of which greatly cut down on blue light.
The frames, depending on the style, are made of stainless steel or nylon.
All of the Gunnar gaming glasses feature:
- Sturdy multi-barrel hinges
- Smudge-resistant lens coating
- GUNNAR patented lens technology
- 100% UV blocking along with blue light reduction
- Low bridge fit
The tint and blue light-blocking features of the lenses can be selected at the time of purchase. Some of them also include G-Shield® anti-reflective coatings at various levels depending on the lens model. Gunnar is an optical company, so anyone who has purchased prescription lenses knows the routine at the end of a sale about coatings and additional features. The Gunnar lenses offer many of these options.
All the Gunnar gaming glasses include a 12-month warranty.
Unfortunately, I am seeing impaired, which means I wear prescription glasses. So, I can admire the frames, but they won’t make me more productive or keep my eyes safer because I can’t see well when I wear them. I do look great in many of them, if I do say so myself. I may have to hunt down prescription lenses for a pair of Stark Edition shades.
With my personal vision confession out of the way, I can say that these glasses all feel solid and look outstanding. You can see for yourself in the self-playing gallery.
