Stand and Hub NVME For Mac Mini/Studio Updated with NVMe SSD Enclosure
Summary
The updated Satechi Stand & Hub For Mac Mini/Studio gets faster with the inclusion of an NVMe SSD Enclosure (which still supports M2.Sata.)
Satechi Stand and Hub NVME For Mac Mini/Studio Review
Satechi continues to improve its Stand and Hub (or Stand & Hub) with the update to the SSD enclosure, which now supports M.2 Sata and NVME. That change means owners can purchase and install faster drives in the hub’ and its SSD enclosure. Installation was easy except for chasing the lock-down screw a couple of times. Satechi might want to consider the rubber nubs used in some devices to make SSD installation easier.
Everything else about the Satechi Stand & Hub NVME remains the same, save for some new port labeling. Unfortunately, that means the hub still does not support device charging or external CD drives, nor does the company suggest more than one “powered” device be attached to the ports at any one time.
Packaging still includes too much plastic.
